Greenspace Plan for Devonport

Space Landscape Architects were commissioned by Plymouth City Council and Green Communities to develop a comprehensive Green Strategy for Devonport. A community-led vision for a greener, more connected, and climate-resilient neighbourhood.

As part of this work, we further developed the Devonport Green Arc, a concept that links the area’s parks and green spaces through a new “green line” pathway. This framework aims to make Devonport more biodiverse, playful, and welcoming, supporting people of all ages and encouraging active travel and outdoor activity.

Working closely with community groups and residents, our concept design explored how nature-based solutions can improve everyday spaces - from pocket parks and planting corridors to enhanced streetscapes and gathering areas. The strategy combines short-term, achievable actions with longer-term aspirations, forming a shared vision for Devonport’s green future.
